Once you’re 15 ½ in Arizona, you can take a written knowledge test to get your permit and start the graduated driver’s license process. The written test is based on the 2018 Arizona Driver License Manual and has 30 multiple-choice questions; in order to pass it and receive your permit, you’ll need to score an 80% or better, pass a vision test, provide two forms of identification, prove parental consent if you’re still a minor, and pay a $7 permit fee. Your license fee, once you move onto your graduated license, will be $25. The knowledge test will be administered on a touchscreen computer at your local MVD office or can be provided in an oral format or in a foreign language, if required. The $7 permit fee will cover three attempts to pass your exam within a one-year period. This MVD practice test in Exam Mode will be the best simulation of the knowledge exam, with questions just like what you’ll see on your real test, and hints and explanations disabled to give you the real test-taking experience.
